Abstract	:	WALKER, AARON L. Behavioral Modeling and Characterization of Nonlinear Operationin RF and Microwave Systems. (Under the direction of Professor Michael B. Steer).Modeling and characterization strategies were developed to capture the complexnonlinear behavior of both the components within an RF circuit and within an assembledsystem. Metrology techniques using common laboratory instrumentation were developedfor the remote characterization of assembled RF devices and the result of this characteri-zation is presented here for the طrst time. In addition, two novel intermodulation relativephase measurement systems were developed that have 90 dB of dynamic range which is aconsiderable improvement over existing systems. This enables the measurement of weakernonlinearities and increase.
