Abstract : Effective energy management for facilities is becoming increasingly important inview of the rising energy costs, the government mandate on the reduction of energyconsumption, and the human comfort requirements. This part of dissertation presents adaily energy management formulation and the corresponding solution methodology forHVAC systems. The problem is to minimize the energy and demand costs through thecontrol of HVAC units while satisfying human comfort, system dynamics, load limit.
